Meet Jaimee Wheaton, Psychotherapist in Toronto, Ontario

You may feel stuck in patterns that are difficult to understand or change. Maybe anxiety feels overwhelming, relationships feel strained, ADHD impacts your daily life more than people realize, or past experiences continue to affect how you think, feel, and respond to the world around you.

You may have tried therapy before and left feeling frustrated by sessions that felt unstructured, surface-level, or lacking direction. You want more than just a space to talk.

You need a deeper understanding, practical tools, and support that help create meaningful change.

I believe therapy should feel both supportive and purposeful.

My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build practical strategies, and move toward lasting, sustainable change in a way that feels collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based care.

Hi, I’m Jaimee Wheaton

I’M A PSYCHOTHERAPIST, MSW, RSW, AND CERTIFIED ADHD CLINICAL SERVICES PROVIDER BASED IN TORONTO, ONTARIO.

I work with adults and couples navigating ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment challenges, OCD, and relationship difficulties.

With over 15 years of experience, my work is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, somatic approaches, attachment-focused therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

I have completed extensive post-graduate training in trauma, ADHD, OCD, couples therapy, emotional regulation, and attachment-focused approaches. My clinical work is informed by ongoing professional development and over 200 hours of clinical supervision.

My approach combines structure, collaboration, and genuine human connection. I use comprehensive assessments and goal-focused sessions to help clients gain insight into their patterns, better understand themselves, and build practical tools that support meaningful change.

Starting My Practice

I started my practice in 2018 while working in a nonprofit setting. At the time, I felt limited by the structure of nonprofit work and wanted the opportunity to do deeper, long-term clinical work with clients.
I began my practice part-time and, within a few months, transitioned to full-time private practice.

Why This Work Matters to Me

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves and make meaningful progress toward their goals.

Whether that means improving a relationship, feeling more confident managing ADHD, developing healthier coping strategies, or breaking long-standing patterns, I find it incredibly fulfilling to support clients as they create positive changes in their lives.

I believe people are capable of growth and change, and I am committed to providing the support, guidance, and practical tools that help make that change possible.

My Approach to Therapy

Many clients come to me after feeling frustrated by therapy experiences that lacked structure or direction. I take a thoughtful, engaged, and goal-focused approach while still creating space for flexibility, humour, and genuine connection.

I believe therapy can be both challenging and supportive. My goal is to help clients feel understood while also helping them build insight, practical tools, and meaningful progress over time.
